Karli’s friend is a watercolour artist who created the beautiful watercolour paintings on their invitation suite printed on handmade paper. It was the perfect start to their Blue Hill at Stone Barns wedding in Pocantico Hills, New York. Karli wore an exquisite Mira Zwillinger gown and Griffen looked so sharp in this navy tuxedo from The Tux Store. The bridesmaids wore flowy, wrap, sage dresses from The Reformation.
They were married in the courtyard in front of a delicately draped wooden arch, decorated with sage green Russian olive, creamy white garden roses, white protea, snapdragon and lisianthus. Karli walked down the aisle to “God Only Knows” by the Beach Boys played by a string quartet from Luminous Sounds.
Guests were invited to the main restaurant and terrace for cocktails. A percussionist was added to the string quartet to give an upbeat feel to the festivities! We transitioned to the upper Hayloft for a seated dinner. The happy couple and their bridal party sat on a 24 foot long head table. Aged brass vases and smaller frog dishes housed the creamy white peonies, garden roses, white protea, scabiosa, white snapdragon and sage greenery along the table. Interspersed with romantic creamy white taper candles in glass sleeves.
After 3 delicious courses by Blue Hill at Stone Barns, we moved back to the restaurant for cutting of the wedding cake and parent dances. The dance party ensued in earnest and guests enjoyed passed desserts of malted barley cones, cascara and chocolate, and Barber chouquettes. These were followed with late night snacks of a mini beet dog, grilled cheese and fries. There was even a whisky station setup in the shed. We had added some beautiful lounge furniture from Patina to the terrace for guests to lounge in when they weren’t partying on the dance floor. What a celebration!
