Did you know you can have a wedding in the main restaurant at Blue Hill at Stone Barns? They offer daytime weddings for a smaller guest count. This worked out perfectly for what Brittney and Adam had in mind for their wedding. With guests arriving at 10AM, we had an early start to the day. Brittney and Adam wanted to take pictures before their guests arrived at Blue Hill, so she woke up really early to start makeup with Face Time Beauty at 5AM in the morning. I’m an early bird anyway, so the early start was great for me. Arriving at dawn at Blue Hill was quite beautiful. For a while it was just me and the baker (who was making the most delicious bread). The bakery is right next to the private dining room, which was where we had Brittney get ready.

After rescheduling a year ahead due to the pandemic, Arielle and Bryant finally got married at Blue Hill at Stone Barns with so many of their family and friends in attendance! With over 200 guests, they felt the safest way to host a big celebration was to have the wedding outdoors. As with all our weddings at Blue Hill this year, every guest was fully vaccinated too.

Anaïs and Brian were married at Blue Hill at Stone Barns in September. It had been calling for some rain that day, so we moved the ceremony for 118 guests from the open courtyard to the covered café awning. This is such an intimate space and equally as beautiful backdrop for the happy couple to saw their vows to each other. Anaïs wore a gorgeous A-line gown from Mira Zwillinger. She also had a custom matching detachable top piece that gave the dress a short sleeve look for the ceremony. This was removed after the ceremony, for a strapless look for the reception. Liam Carey changed her hair style from a soft elegant updo to hair down for the reception. Her Poppies and Posies bouquet was comprised of creamy white local dahlia, paired with hydrangea, garden roses, hydrangea, delicate eucalyptus and a touch of small blue thistle.

In what has been an incredibly wet year for weddings, we finally had a day when I didn’t have to keep checking my three weather apps throughout the day. It was a gorgeous September day at Blue Hill at Stone Barns for Carmen and Matt. We had to reschedule their wedding twice due to COVID-19, and everyone was so happy when the big day finally came. Both sets of parents spent many weeks in quarantine on their journey from China. Carmen and Matt were both such a pleasure to work with. They dealt with the pandemic challenges with compassion and grace. I think this bodes well for a long and happy marriage!

This lovely couple was supposed to have a big spring wedding at the Plaza Hotel. Due to COVID-19, they decided to have a much smaller outdoor wedding in their family backyard, and reschedule the bigger reception to 2022. I love that they decided to still get married on their original date and in a place that was so meaningful.

Like many other couples Laura and Keith had to reschedule and downsize their wedding due to COVID-19. We finally came together in June and had a safe and joyful celebration of their marriage at Blue Hill at Stone Barns! Every guest and vendor had to provide proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test to attend. Before the ceremony, Laura and Keith arrived early to take pictures around the beautiful grounds. They were so natural with each other that their photographer Kim from Brian Dorsey Studios said she hardly had to give them any direction! Clearly two people who were meant for each other.

Sarah and Nico had planned for a big wedding the summer of 2020. Unfortunately COVID had other ideas, so we ended up moving their larger celebration to a later safer date. They still wanted to get married on their original date, so they decided to have the sweetest of micro weddings with only immediate family in her parents’ backyard. For safety both the ceremony and the dinner took place outdoors and they had 12 people in attendance. Poppies and Posies created a bright and joyous bouquet for Sarah with coral and peach garden roses, pink and orange dahlia, peach zinnia and blue nigella.

Maureen and Kevin found a new location at Valley Rock Inn with beautiful grounds for taking photos after the church ceremony. We had to find a new photographer, videographer, hair stylist, makeup artist and wedding cake designer for the new date with 3 weeks to plan. I am so grateful to all these vendors who came on board at the last minute and existing vendors who were flexible with the changes involved, and helped to make Maureen and Kevin’s celebration such a beautiful and fun event!

Alison and Aaron had to adjust their wedding plans due to COVID-19. Their original wedding date was October 3, 2020 and they were committed to getting married that day. Instead of the larger wedding we had original planned which simply was not possible due to state mandates on events, we moved to planning a micro wedding for 37 guests in her family backyard in Connecticut. I started working on this new plan with 8 weeks to go until the big day. There was a lot to do with hiring of new vendors and adjusting our needs with our current vendors.
Her parents have a beautiful home in Connecticut with gorgeous lawns at the front and back of the house. It made for such beautiful wedding pictures! After reviewing the many lovely options on where to place the events with the Greenwich Tent Company, we settled on keeping the festivities close to the back of the house.

Many couples had to pivot their wedding plans in 2020, but these micro weddings still worked out so nicely. When the same love and care is put into planning a celebration, you know it will be good. Maureen and Kevin downsized their wedding to 40 and moved venue locations to Valley Rock Inn (Sloatsburg, New York). I helped them to plan it in a mere 3 weeks. Sarah and Nico changed their summer wedding to a celebration with just 12 family members. They had a gorgeous outdoor ceremony and dinner at Sarah’s family home. Love can’t be cancelled!

I have always been fond of sunshine yellow and was so happy to hear that this couple loved it too. For the dinner in the hayloft, Poppies and Posies used delicate yellow sunflowers woven throughout their arrangements of olive, geranium, zinnia, lisianthus, cosmos, dahlia and unripe raspberries. These were displayed in ceramic vases that complimented the beautiful china that Blue Hill at Stone Barns uses.
