Most of our Blue Hill at Stone Barns weddings range from 150-220 guests, but sometimes we get to plan an intimate celebration and it is small enough to fit in the main dining room in the restaurant. Which I absolutely adore! Michelle and Dmitri celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary with a vow renewal at Blue Hill in the fall. The restaurant is closed on Monday and Tuesdays, so it allowed us to use the space for a special celebration on a Monday night after a holiday weekend!
Michelle actually purchased this dress 10 years ago and finally had the chance to wear it for her vow renewal. Carolina Herrara sure knows how to keep things classic and timeless! Despite a little drizzle of rain, Sara Wight managed to get some beautiful pictures of the happy couple in the courtyard and clever usage of areas with an overhang! Michelle carried a delicate bouquet of dahlia, garden roses, quick fire hydrangea and cosmos.
The original plan had been to have the ceremony in the courtyard, but with the day’s drizzle, we moved it inside to the loggia. It still had so much natural light through the glass windows and created a beautifully intimate space for the vow renewal with their nearest and dearest. Michelle’s cello teacher provided the music for the ceremony.
Cocktails took place loggia and private dining room, so guests had the view of the terrace and the farm and could step outside if they wanted. We had two guitarists from Elan Artists play for the cocktail hour.
Dinner for 61 guests took place in the main dining room! The harvest table in the middle of the room was decorated with hand calligraphed escort cards in metallic copper for guests to find their seats. We used a combination of rounds for the guest tables and a long rectangular table for the head table. Elegant flowers and taper candles in glass sleeves adorned each table and Michelle’s artist friend painted dreamy watercolor table numbers. Guest dined on a delicious four course meal complete with wine pairings, and danced the night away to music provided by 74 Events. On the way home, guests were presented with a Blue Hill seasonal mini loaf in a muslin bag with their signature cow printed on it. A very special celebration for a very special milestone!
