Cipriani 25 Broadway Wedding Venue

If you are an engaged couple looking for a formal and elegant wedding venue in a grand space, you should consider Cipriani 25 Broadway. As a Manhattan based wedding planner, I have worked at many different venues in New York City and Cipriani 25 Broadway remains one of my favourites for a classic and sophisticated NYC wedding.

Why do you love working at Cipriani 25 Broadway?

The soaring ceilings, ornate architecture, magnificent inlaid floors, and hand-painted frescos make this venue truly exceptional. Originally constructed as the headquarters of the Cunard Steamship Line, the space has been revitalized by Cipriani since 2014, blending historical grandeur with modern elegance. The service and hospitality are of a very high quality. It is a Cipriani standard to provide one waiter per every five guests and one captain per every fifty guests. The experienced Maître d’ is wonderful to work with and will ensure everything runs smoothly throughout your wedding day at Cipriani 25 Broadway.

What type of couple would you recommend this venue to?

Couples who want a wedding based in Manhattan to make it easy for their guests to attend. It is a perfect venue for someone who loves Italian food. Their pasta is so delicious. They have a decadent range of cocktail reception stations that you can choose from and all are presented beautifully. Cipirani 25 Broadway is for a couple that is looking for an elegant venue with old-world splendor.

How many guests can Cipriani 25 Broadway accommodate?

The space is quite flexible depending on how you plan to use the 3 separate domes. Our weddings so far have ranged from 175 to 250 guests. If you happen to be under the guest count minimum for a Saturday night (typically 200), you can always use the additional budget to upgrade food and beverage items. I think the space works wonderfully for 200-225 and gives you a lot of flexibility on the layout. You can go larger if you spread out the seating between two adjacent domes. There are not many venues in Manhattan that can accommodate 250-300+. If you have a larger wedding, it is a venue worth considering.

Is there a getting ready suite available on site?

There is a spacious getting ready suite at the venue. We have also used other locations like the nearby Beekman Hotel or the couple’s own apartment for hair and makeup and getting dressed. The suite at Cipriani 25 Broadway is still great to have as a space for the wedding party once they get to the venue. After the ceremony, the couple can have a private moment to enjoy some cocktails and hors d’oeuvres before they join their guests. It is hard to eat and drink when you are busy greeting all your guests, so I always recommend getting some refreshments before you join them.

Where can we take pictures?

The front lobby area and library at Cipriani gets some lovely natural light and is a wonderful place to take some pictures at the venue. We have also done wedding party pictures at the getting ready hotels. If you want some outdoor greenery before getting to the venue, City Hall Park and Battery Park are not too far away.

Where does the ceremony take place?

We have done the ceremony in the center dome and flipped it later for dinner. You can setup the ceremony facing west, facing south or in the round. With the facing west option, the backdrop of the ceremony area would be the Cipriani white moveable walls, which hide the preset dining tables. The band stage could be preset on the north side of the center dome or could be set against the west wall. With the facing south option, the backdrop of the ceremony area would be the wall and columns of Cipriani.

Where is the cocktail reception?

We typically utilize the east dome and lobby area for the cocktail reception. This gives us plenty of space to have two to three bars and many cocktail stations. The Cipriani team are so swift and quiet setting up the cocktail reception while the guests are in the ceremony. That way guests don’t see all that station setup as they arrive for the ceremony and have a wonderful surprise after as the party gets started. After the ceremony, servers will be passing Cipriani’s signature peach bellinis, sparkling wine and your signature cocktails.

What do you recommend for the dinner and dancing setup?

The band setup in the center dome against the north wall is a good location for a center dance floor with tables setup around the dance floor. A great layout if you want a party with dancing between the courses. Tables can also extend into the west dome if you have a large guest count and they can’t all fit in the center dome. I worked with a couple who wanted more of a separation between dinner and dancing. They viewed their reception as an elegant dinner with guests enjoying each others company and being to converse over dinner. Then saving the energetic dancing for an extended dance set after dinner. We placed all the dinner tables in the center dome and had the band in the west dome against the magnificent west wall. It was quite a stage to play from! Around the dance floor in the west dome, we were able to build out some lounge furniture seating, which is always a fun part of the design process. Something beautiful and functional for the dancing part of the evening.

What can we do for an after party?

We often use the same dance floor area for the after party, but transition from the live band to a DJ for late night. You can change up the lighting of the space as well to switch up the vibe. A perk of being located in Manhattan is the wide variety of food you can bring in late night! You could bring in Shake Shack burger and fries, Joe’s Pizza, Prince Street Pizza or Katz's Deli pastrami sandwiches. I love a salty late night snack.

What sets this venue apart from the other Cipriani locations?

Moment Factory has 360 projection infrastructure at Cipriani 25 Broadway which allows for different multimedia decor looks and transitional moments throughout the evening. For example at the kiss at the end of the ceremony, when we open the dining room for dinner or as we transition to dancing for the after party. They also have a custom 3D monogramme projected on the west screen to appear as if the couple’s monogramme is etched into the stone of the venue. Are there any exclusive vendors required?

Wistar Productions is the inhouse exclusive provider for lighting, sound and staging. When you hire a band or DJ, you can request their rider to have Wistar price out the audio. The band or DJ companies are not allowed to bring in their own sound equipment. This typically does not reduce their pricing, so that is something to be aware of. Depending on the production elements, I would budget about $40,000 to $60,000 for lighting, sound and staging. Moving lights, Moment Factory decor, pins spots on dining tables and a larger music setup would increase the budget.
