Jewel Toned Rainbow Room Wedding— Ang Weddings and Events

Rachel and Brian wanted a formal New York City wedding and found the perfect place at the iconic Rainbow Room at Rockefeller Plaza. The stunning views of the city and the gorgeous art deco details in the historic venue made it a sure thing as soon as they saw the space.

Rachel and her mom love flowers and orchids in particular. Naturally I thought of my good friend By Yena Designs, who happens to be an orchid whisperer. She sources the most divine orchids and creates such stunning arrangements with them. As soon as guests stepped off the elevator to the 65th floor, they saw the empire state building and were greeted with a lucite escort table filled with flowers. The Fourteen Forty escort cards were burgundy with hand calligraphy by Mary Ellen in bright white. The chuppah simply took everyone's breath away with the floral masterpiece that Yena created dripping with orchids. As guests moved to dinner in the Rainbow Room, the palette moved to deeper jewel tones with a sea of romantic pillar and votive candles.

Their signature cocktail sign was a "well-stocked bar". Their beloved beagle Duke was there in spirit with a photo of his head on a stick that everyone loved using with the photo booth. In lieu of a formal guestbook, the couple provided each table with a bottle of wine that guests signed with markers. With each year's anniversary, they will open the bottle with the corresponding table number. What a lovely way to celebrate!
